Time flies at The Card Studio! It’s March and we are already looking at Christmas stock!
Thank you to everybody who booked lessons from the last collection of classes and workshops – the feedback has been very positive, and everyone seems to have been inspired by them! – even the peel-off class which proved extremely popular.
We have had yet another change around at our new premises. It was simply a case of making more space or find even bigger premises! I was persuaded by my husband that knocking down a wall was far and away the best option! Apologies for the inconvenience caused – we are now back to normal – or as normal as we can be at The Studio!
Lots to tell so boil the kettle, brew the tea and grab those chocolate digestives!

Weekend Craft Extravaganza
Our Weekend Craft Extravaganza took place last weekend and was a great success – thank you to everyone who joined us and thank you again for the kindness of giving gifts to all of us – we had a tear in our eye! Thank you. Here are just a few of the many photographs taken during the weekend.
Online shop
It seems to be taking forever, but we hope to have our online shop up and running in the next few weeks. All the items – and we have lots! – have to be entered individually into the “shop” – which is taking into the “wee” small hours of each morning! We will be testing soon and will let you know when we are “open” for business through this website. There will be a direct link from the current site with a new heading at the top of every page – so when you see “Shop” appear that isn’t a code word – it means the shop is open for you to use!!
The Gallery
Included within the shop site will be “The Studio Gallery”. We will be able to showcase the products we sell, in the form of cards, scrapbook pages and papercraft items – very similar to when you visit The Studio and are inspired by the designs that we have on display. See a product displayed on line and see examples using that product at the click of the mouse!
Demonstration Days
The demo days that we held at The Studio were a great success. Christine & I thoroughly enjoyed showing you the ins and outs of the various tools that we sell. We have lots planned for the new session. These will include demos of all the new stamps coming onto the market from the U.S. but we also have British stamp designs from Companies such as Hobby Art and Banana Frog.
We have got lots of lovely items made up from the new papers and embellishments that are being delivered. It is so easy to create designs when the products are of such high quality in both design and manufacture – come and see the results.
Just turn up and join in making & taking and see all the new inspirational designs we have to offer! Each demo day will be different but be assured there will always be something great to have a go at. Refreshments & homemade cakes will be on sale!

"The Studio" Magazine
Lots of you have been asking about the new magazine that I am putting together as I write! We are so excited about this project. We had been hoping to produce a DVD showing designs and techniques from The Studio, but decided that with the ever-changing products – I would have to be updating it every couple of weeks! A magazine gives much more scope for flexibility to be at the forefront when it comes to new products. Also, I had way too many designs – the DVD would have to be at least 6 hours long! This way I can provide bite-sized chunks of inspiration to you and perhaps friends and relations far away who enjoy an old fashioned read through of the ideas and projects. Don’t worry we will still have step-by-step visual instructions on how to tie a bow – I will be working closely with the photographer to ensure that! The magazine will include scrapbooking – so I will be on the look-out for examples from you for inclusion on our reader’s pages. Also competitions with super duper prizes. It will be cover to cover inspirations – great project, Q & A’s, hints and tips on the latest products, not pages and pages of adverts – after all. There is only one craft shop for all your crafting needs!
K&Co
Our range of the fantastic K&Co products is growing daily – with the addition of great new crafting kits. You are always guaranteed great quality with K&Co.
We have examples made up of all the new kits – here are just a few to whet your appetite.

Cricut Design Studio
For those of you who have not seen this in action – you have got to pop along and let Christine show you all the ins and outs. It is what we have been waiting for as the “icing on the cake”. I think we can confirm that Christine is officially a D.S.A – a Design Studio Addict!! – she will soon have the T-shirt to prove it!
Great new cartridges have joined the ever growing collection over the past couple of months – by far the most popular has been “Paper Dolls” – don’t just assume that this is for the youngsters. We were amazed at the amount of designs on this cartridge that could be applied to many occasions and events other than young children.
Also Mickey & Friends is an excellent cartridge – most children & some adults are in awe of the Disney© characters and if a holiday to Disneyland© is planned in the near future, then get ahead with those scrapbook pages and birthday cards! The designs are so perfect in reproduction it beggars belief!!
STOP PRESS
The new Pooh Bear Cartridges will be with us soon and we are taking orders now. Even the new cartridges are on sale at the low price of £49.95 in the shop and in our web shop!!!
PRIZE DRAW
The pre-Christmas prize draw was a fabulous success. Jo Hogan was the winner of our wonderful MIMI Tote Bag. We have decided to have a Spring Draw – so anybody purchasing products in The Studio (not through the web shop) from March 17th to April 17th (inclusive) and spending £30 or more in a single transaction and visit to The Studio will entered in the draw – there is no charge for entry and the winner drawn at random will be announced on Saturday 19th April and be placed on the website. A lovely “Making Memories” rotating desktop organiser is the prize!! Well worth a flutter!

As mentioned earlier, we are looking forward to the delivery of Banana Frog products. We will be making up lots of examples from the items and they will be on display in The Studio and in The Gallery.

As I write this, we have just been warned of wintry showers by night fall, but I have been fortified by lots of cappuccinos and Hot Cross Buns from our local baker – they are the best hot cross buns in England!! No worries about getting snowed in!
Well I think that is all for now – back to playing with all the lovely new products – it really is a hard life!! – So much to show you!
